The Essex Barn at Channels Estate is the perfect wedding venue overlooking the Essex countryside.
Lori began her bridal preparations at Channels rooftop apartment in the heart of Chelmsford. This was the perfect place to relax with her bridesmaids the night before.
Meanwhile, Jon, George & Tom (Jon’s 2 best men and lifelong friends) were getting ready at home together with the other members of their family Dotty & Betsie, who to be honest weren’t much help really and spent the entire morning cat napping under the bed.
On our way to Channels, we made an emotional visit to Jon’s nan who was unable to make the journey, but he was determined to make her a part of his day.
Jon said his goodbyes and our taxi continued on to Channels in good time to grab some shots with the boys before welcome their guests.
With make up done, Lori continued on to the stunning Oak Suite at Channels Estate. Here she had time to read an emotional card from Jon before slipping into her elegant wedding dress from Lottie Lew Bridal, Hornchurch.
Exchanging vows underneath the pavilion, everyone could feel the love between Jon & Lori. It was a real honour to be a part of their day.
It was the perfect weather for a wedding “the weather had been very grey and miserable. We had our hearts set on an outdoor ceremony but due to the weather thought that this would not be possible. On the morning of the wedding it was bleak and drizzly but at about 13:30, one hour before our ceremony, I remember the brightest sunshine filling the bridal suite. I really feel that this was our passed relatives doing their bit for us on the day and letting us know they were there.”
As dusk approached, we took a stroll around the well kept greens and fairways and down to the lake. With the sun painting the sky behind us were able to capture some beautiful twilight images of Jon & Lori before heading back to begin the speeches.
Jon & Lori were in no doubt about which song to choose as their first dance. Can’t take my eye’s off of you by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and were lucky enough to find Jersey Boys tribute act The Other Guys were available to sign their first dance and start the evening entertainment off in true style before handing over to Adhoc Entertainment.
The White walls of the Channels Estate restaurant provided the perfect backdrop for my final shot of the evening. A beautiful silhouette under the stars.
A wonderful bride and groom and a truly stylish and elegant wedding. Both the couple and venue made my job on the day an absolute pleasure!
Wedding co-ordinator Jess Woolley did a fantastic job looking after Jon & Lori and kept the day running smoothly. As well as the beautiful backdrop Channels provides, the staff at both Channels Estate & Little Channels are the most wonderful and attentive I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with.
Congratulations to Jon and Lori for getting married at Channels Estate and creating such a beautiful and memorable day for yourselves, your family and friends.
Lori’s Top Tip: Have a wedding perfume. Every time I smell mine I am transported back to the day.
